Breast Augmentation in Granbury near Forth Worth, TX

What are the types of implants available for breast augmentation?
Prior to your scheduled breast augmentation surgery, you and Dr. Peterson will decide which type of implant will be best to use depending on your preference and the results that you desire to achieve.- Saline breast implants are filled with sterile salt water. They are filled after insertion into the breasts to allow for any minor adjustments should there be a need for one.
- Silicone breast implants are pre-filled with an elastic silicone gel. Using this type of implant will require a longer incision to be made to insert and place the implant.
What is a breast augmentation procedure like?
A breast augmentation is typically performed under general anesthesia and will take about 2 hours to complete. The incision can be made on different areas of the breast such as the breast fold, the edge of the areola, or in the area near the armpit. A pocket will be created and the implant will be inserted. Dr. Peterson will make adjustments in the implant placement to ensure that the perfect symmetry is achieved before closing the incisions. Recovery for a breast augmentation will take around 1 or 2 weeks and patients will be provided instructions on proper post-op care and wound healing to avoid any infection and other complications.Common Name: Breast Augmentation
